Midlands cosmetic surgeon shortlisted for national awards

Cheltenham cosmetic surgeon Dalvi Humzah has been shortlisted as a double finalist in the third annual national Aesthetic Awards 2013.

Mr Humzah, whose private practice - Plastic and Dermatological Surgery (PDS) - is based at Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital – is a finalist as both ‘Speaker of the Year’ and ‘Training Provider of the Year’, two of the most sought-after categories in this year’s awards taking place in December.

Organised by Cosmetic News Magazine, with a total of 23 categories the awards recognise the outstanding achievements of practitioners, surgeons and suppliers working in the cosmetic industry.

Mr Humzah has taken centre stage as key note speaker at a number of high profile industry events during the last 12 months including the 1st Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress Eastern Europe, Moscow, Facial Aesthetic & Endoscopic, Oculoplastic Surgery and Rhinoplasty, Coventry and the 11th Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress, Monaco.

He is also recognised for his recent training events including Anatomy and Advanced Injection Technique Training at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Facial Anatomy Technique Training at The University of Glasgow Clinical Anatomy Skills Centre.  

He said: “As a regular campaigner for improved standards for patients, it is a real honour to be a finalist in these categories. The awards do a fantastic job in celebrating high standards and excellence in the industry, as well as creating a real buzz and excitement.”

The winners will be revealed at the Aesthetic Awards on 7th December, at Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, London.

A member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons and previously  Co-chairman of the UK Botulinum Toxin Group for Aesthetics, Dalvi Humzah is on the GMC’s specialist register and has over a decade’s experience in his chosen medical field. He has also been both a tutor and examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons.

Since embarking on his medical career in 1988, he has held positions in some of the UK’s best known hospitals including Guy’s, King’s College Hospital and St Thomas’s. He has also been a visiting fellow at Sri Lanka’s National Cancer Hospital and The Melanoma Unit in Sydney.

Mr Humzah’s private practice, Plastic and Dermatological Surgery (PDS), is based at; The Nuffield Health Wolverhampton Hospital; West Midlands Hospital, Halesowen; Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital and Solihull Bupa Wellness Centre. He offers a broad range of surgical and non-surgical procedures at each of the hospitals and has a particular interest in reconstructive surgery for cancer patients.

Mr Humzah has been invited to appear as an expert in numerous television programmes including Channel Four’s Dispatches where he unveiled the truth behind so-called ‘miracle’ beauty creams and the hit show Embarrassing Bodies where he carried out surgery on patients with sensitive cosmetic conditions that were damaging their confidence.
